The colder weather and heavy downpours of October have reminded UK drivers to get prepared for the impending winter.
Icy roads make even the best motorists susceptible to crashing their car, a mistake that could cost them £7,200 this winter, new data suggests.
Research by vehicle history platform carVertical shows the average repair bill for recorded damage sits at £7,200.
January was the month with the highest risk of crashing at 10.3%, closely followed by November at 9.8% and June at 9.2%. The quietest months were April at 7%, and September at 7.1%, according to the platform.
