The cyber attack at Jaguar Land Rover cost an estimated £1.9bn with researchers claiming it is the 'most economically damaging cyber event to hit the UK'.

The luxury car manufacturer was forced to shut down operations over five weeks between September 1 and October 7. The Cyber Monitoring Centre (CMC) has since analysed the damage and found it affected 5,000 businesses as part of JLR's supply chain.

JLR - which has factories in Solihull , Castle Bromwich and Wolverhampton - declined to comment when approached by BirminghamLive on any estimates or predictions related to this research.
