NEW ORLEANS — A fire broke out near the St. Roch neighborhood Wednesday morning, and New Orleans firefighters actively worked to contain it.

NOFD said the blaze was a two-alarm fire, involving three structures along the 2600 block of N. Villere Street near Franklin Avenue before 5 a.m.

They said those buildings, included an Airbnb, a daycare center, and an "unoccupied exposure," a statement to WWL said.

Four residents staying in the Airbnb escaped safely before firefighters arrived.

When firefighters arrived, they found a "single-story, occupied, wood-framed dwelling with fire heavily involved" at the back of the building, a release said.
