Pupils from five South Ayrshire secondary schools went head to head during the Rotary Club of Ayr's annual technology tournament. ‌

Hosted at Belmont Academy in Ayr , pupils from Ayr, Belmont, Carrick, Kyle and Queen Margaret Academies were challenged to assemble a space capsule with a launching and carrier vehicle. ‌

Designed as a challenging and enjoyable way for young people to enrich their science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) learning, the tournament saw three age groups from each school construct the 3m models with a combination of wood, paper, glue, tape, elastic bands and board. ‌
