KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A “verbal threat” has prompted an evacuation and law enforcement response at Cedar Bluff Elementary School, according to Carly Harrington, a spokesperson for Knox County Schools.
It happened Wednesday morning, she said, adding that the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Kimberly Glenn, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said juvenile detectives and patrol had responded to the school. Glenn also said Homeland Security often also responds in threat situations.
The evacuation came as a precaution, Harrington said. As of 8:45 a.m., she said students were still evacuated.
