An 18-year-old was killed in a crash in Stratford over the weekend and another person is in critical condition, according to police.

Police said a vehicle hit a tree in the 1100 block of Nichols Avenue just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Five people between 16 and 24 years old were in the vehicle.

The driver, 18-year-old Ryan Frank Julian, later died, police said.

One person was taken to the hospital with what seemed to be life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition, according to police.

Three others appeared to have minor injuries.

Police have not determined the cause of the crash.
