Police responded to a crash in Naugatuck on Tuesday night and found that one person who was in the vehicle had been shot.

Police said officers responded to the intersection of Route 63 and Mill Street around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday after a car hit guardrail and the people in the vehicle said someone shot at them in the area of Mill Street and Baummer Pond.

One person in the vehicle had minor injuries from a gunshot and the others had minor injuries from the crash, police said.

Some of the passengers were transported to a local hospital to be treated.

Police said they found evidence of gunfire on Mill Street in the area of pond and they are investigating.
