The man wanted by police in connection to the fatal daylight shooting at a Brampton plaza and alleged abduction of his one-year-old daughter is dead after a police-involved shooting in Niagara Falls, police said Wednesday morning .

Officers were searching for 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper in what police were calling a case of intimate partner violence.

Peel police were called to a shopping plaza near Airport Road and Queen Street East in Brampton just before 2 p.m. Tuesday where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Though paramedics attempted to treat the woman’s injuries, she died at the scene. Her age and identity have not been released.
