A 37-year-old Cambridge man is facing charges including second degree murder in a November 2024 shooting that left one man dead and another seriously injured.

Waterloo Regional Police said members of the Major Crime Unit arrested and charged the man on Wednesday in connection to the shooting that occurred nearly a year ago on Lena Crescent in Cambridge.

On Nov. 27, 2024, emergency crews responded to the area of Lena Crescent and Pamela Lane after receiving reports of a shooting.

They found a 40-year-old Cambridge man who’d been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim, a 31-year-old Cambridge man, was found outside a residence and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time, police said they believed the shooting was targeted.
