COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Numerous crashes across Colorado Springs snarled traffic during the Wednesday morning rush hour, including on some of Colorado Springs’ busiest roadways.

One of the first to be reported Wednesday morning involved a collision at North Academy and Briargate Boulevard just after 7 a.m. Police said the crash involved a northbound pickup truck and a southbound minivan. The minivan had a green light and was traveling through the intersection just as the truck was making a left turn on a flashing yellow light.

“No injuries, just a terrible location,” a CSPD lieutenant told 11 News when describing the crash.

One of the vehicles spilled oil at the scene, causing further delays while the Colorado Springs Fire Department cleaned up.
