BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - I was doing some thinking this morning. Dangerous, I know.

To me, it feels like there’s some Derek Carr in this whole Brian Kelly situation. Meaning, the negativity of the fan base is disproportionate to the results that individual has produced. And although I would say Kelly has certainly done better at LSU as a head coach than Carr did with the New Orleans Saints as a quarterback, there’s certainly this strong “he doesn’t get us” sentiment we’ve heard and felt from the fans. The mannerisms and demeanor of both during games and press conferences was and has been scrutinized in a negative light.

And along with that, a bit of “angst,” if you will, is the inordinate amount of money that was and is invested in these individuals, and what the return on that investme
