PEORIA, Ill. – A woman was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle and stabbing a person after a vehicle hijacking in Peoria on Tuesday night, while a male suspect remains at-large.

Peoria Police says the incident occurred near Knoxville and Arcadia, where two people told officers a male and female entered their vehicle while in a nearby business.

Police say a male that stayed in the vehicle attempted to stop the suspects, with a struggle over the gear shift. The female suspect then allegedly produced a needle and stabbed the male victim.

The suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle, while the victim was taken to a local hospital

Police later found the vehicle near Nebraska and Delaware, where the female suspect, 31-year-old Courtney Garms, was arrested for Aggravated Vehicular
