BOONE COUNTY, Ill. — Local police have blocked traffic at an intersection because of a vehicle crash.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook emergency crews are at the intersection of Route 173 and Caledonia Road for an accident. The road will be shut down in both directions for several hours while crews clean up and work at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office asked drivers to detour around the area and use different routes.
