AUSTIN, Texas — Police say a driver left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian on a scooter in Downtown Austin on Saturday night.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the crash happened at the intersection of East 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard around 11:34 p.m. on Oct. 18.
The rider of the scooter, later identified as 33-year-old Khaled Saadenddine, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead on Oct. 19.
