EL MIRAGE, Ariz. — A man shot and killed by police officers in El Mirage earlier this month ignored multiple commands and walked toward officers with a rifle before the shooting, according to authorities.
On Oct. 22, the El Mirage Police Department gave an update on the Oct. 8 incident in which 44-year-old Jeremy Preckel died after being shot by officers. Body camera images were also released.
The shooting happened at 5:30 p.m. near 115th Avenue and Charter Oak Road after officers responded to a 911 call.
The 911 call lasted 14 minutes.
