OMAHA, Neb. —
Burlington Station is located at 925 S. 10th St.
Construction was completed on Burlington Station in 1898. The building was designed to serve passenger travel, but also for shipment of produce, mail, newspapers and other products.
It was designed by architect Thomas Rogers Kimball.
Grand opening was July 4, 1898, in time for Omaha's Trans-Mississippi International Exposition, for which Thomas Kimball was one of the supervising architects.
The main lobby featured a grand circular opening and staircase leading passengers downstairs to track level. The circular opening will be restored.
The interior also included natural stone mosaic tile floors, which remain in the building today. These mosaic floors will be restored.
