HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut Children's has a new facility that will be ready to serve the community in the coming months.

The eight-story clinical tower in Hartford will provide new space for pediatric care in the capital city region, with strong economic impact, community contributions and collaborative construction model between the health care provider and its partners.

"This is intended to bring a lot of excitement to our patients and families who are coming in to the new front entrance to our hospital," Reaghan Schnicker, director of planning design and construction, said. "We're bringing patient care forward and center -- we are improving access to care."

The patient care spaces and clinical floors are still under construction. The floor is set to open Dec. 4.
