BIBB COUNTY, Ala. —

Two people in Bibb County are facing charges after their dogs attacked Jamie Boyd in his driveway in September.

Investigators say William and Lacey Mitchell owned the seven dogs involved in the attack.

They have been charged under Emily's Law, which imposes penalties on owners of dogs that pose a threat to public safety.

Both William and Lacey Mitchell pleaded not guilty in the case.

Boyd's attorney said that his client may lose an arm and a leg because of an infection that has become out of control.

Boyd had previously sued the dog owners for damages resulting from the attack.
