EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) -- New changes are coming to performing arts in Evansville beginning in 2026.
The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana is handing the reins to their programming over to the Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library. The arts council says these changes are to ensure local arts and artists continue to be on display for years to come.
“This decision has been a long time coming,” says council member Anne McKim. “Our board of directors has been very thoughtful and intentional about all of the paths forward. And the thing that we have kept as our true north this entire time is what is best for the artists and what is best for the community.”
