A storm system moving into New Mexico will bring rain to parts of the state overnight. More storms develop Thursday afternoon, along with breezier weather.

Spotty showers moved into western New Mexico this afternoon as a Pacific low pressure system approaches the state. The storm system will continue to move across New Mexico tonight, keeping a few spotty showers going on into Thursday morning from northern New Mexico to southern parts of the state. More storms develop in northern, central, and eastern New Mexico by Thursday afternoon. A few of these storms could even turn strong to severe, with hail and strong winds the biggest threats. Meanwhile, drier air will be moving into western parts of New Mexico Thursday, where winds will gust as high as 35 mph.
