Isolated showers, chilly temperatures and overcast skies are in the forecast for Massachusetts on Thursday, before the real cold snap moves in over the weekend.

Peeks of sunshine are expected to break through the mostly cloudy skies at times after sunrise, according to the National Weather Service .

Temperatures will be in the upper 50s in areas like Pittsfield and Worcester, and will hit the 60s in Boston, Springfield and on Cape and the Islands.

But after 1 p.m., there’s a possibility for brief, isolated showers across the state, forecasters warned. Winds may gust up to 25 mph, especially along the coastline.

Friday is expected to be much of the same conditions, with temperatures ranging in the high 50s to low 60s, though winds should die down.
