COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A section of local road is scheduled to temporarily close as part of a project to address storm drainage issues.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, a small portion of Hopeful Drive will close for bridge replacement over the Templeton Creek channel. The closure began on Monday and is set to be in place for nine months.

City officials said traffic will not be allowed on Hopeful Drive between Sedate Way and North Blissful Circle during the closure.

Detours will be in place, and all dates are weather-dependent.

Officials said the closure is part of the city’s Park Vista Drainage Improvements project, designed to improve storm drainage in the Park Vista South Neighborhood.
