The BART board of directors likely got an earful at their meeting Thursday morning after another service disruption earlier this week.

Monday’s disruption was the fifth this year, lasting three hours, and riders are frustrated. BART was forced to halt Red and Green line service then eventually single-track trains through the Transbay Tube.

The culprit was a damaged insulator that occurred around 6:15 a.m., about an hour into the morning service. A blown insulator was to blame in a similar disruption in August.

BART management promised better communication with riders after that incident.
