Man robbed of $4,000 cash, jewelry, Rolex while pumping gas, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was robbed of $4,000 and thousands more in jewelry and a Rolex watch while he was pumping gas early Wednesday morning, police said.

Memphis Police (MPD) said the robbery happened around 3:40 a.m. at a Circle K on Getwell Road off American Way. The man told investigators that he had started pumping gas when someone came up behind him and pointed a gun at his stomach.

The robber told the man to "empty his pockets" before leaving with a $7,000 Rolex watch, $17,000 in jewelry and $4,000 in cash, police said.

MPD said the robber took off in a black sedan with tinted windows.
