SAN ANGELO, Texas (CONCHOVALLEYHOMEPAGE/KLST) — As investigators continue searching for what sparked two fires in less than 24 hours at a former downtown furniture store. Field technicians are still repairing critical fiber lines damaged by the 2-alarm fire that left homes and businesses without internet for much of Wednesday.
City officials say arson is not suspected at this time, but they’re not ruling anything out. The second fire early Wednesday morning destroyed what was left of the old Gisselle’s Raw Furniture building near North Oakes and 3rd Street, forcing nearby roads to close and knocking out communications for several blocks.
