KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — At least one person was injured after a shooting in East Knoxville.

The Knoxville Police Department responded to a shooting outside an apartment on Washington Avenue near the intersection with Bertrand Street around 1:15 p.m. on October 23.

6 News crews at the scene learned that one woman was injured. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A suspect is not in custody at this time, according to KPD.

A witness at the scene reported hearing a loud pop, followed by several sirens.
