FRANKLIN, Va. — For the first time this season, a Frost Advisory has been issued for inland portions of Hampton Roads, in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM Friday. Overnight lows are expected to dip to around 33 degrees, allowing patchy frost to develop by early morning.
This advisory includes inland areas of southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina, where clear skies and light winds will create ideal conditions for frost formation.
Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and outdoor vegetation, as frost could cause damage or kill unprotected plants. Coastal and urban areas closer to the water are expected to stay just warm enough to avoid frost.
This marks the first frost advisory of the season, signaling the arrival of colder autumn air across the region.
