CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte police were still searching for the person responsible for killing a woman at a SouthPark apartment complex last week.
Police said 45-year-old Dwanneich Hammonds was shot on Oct. 13.
Toronda Massey, Hammonds’ aunt, says she was a light and a joy to be around. She said the family has been grieving and waiting for any answers to find out who killed Hammonds.
“When you talk about a real gentle soul, when I say just so humble, just so pure and innocent of life, who was just wanting to enjoy her life still,” Massey said as she describes her niece.
Massey is trying to remember the happy memories.
