CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A suspect is dead on Thursday after a shootout with police, following a chase, a separate fatal shooting, and an alleged kidnapping.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said on Thursday, Oct. 23, around 4 p.m., officers responded to Hoskins Road and Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte regarding a report of multiple shots fired and assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a hospital, where one victim died, and the other is in critical condition.
Chief Jennings said that while officers were investigating that scene, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police received a call of a reported kidnapping and home invasion.
