CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person was dead on Wednesday evening after being involved in a shooting with a police officer in west Charlotte, according to Medic.

Medic said on Wednesday, Oct. 23, around 4:40 p.m., they responded to a reported shooting near Freedom Road and West Morehead Street.

It was not immediately clear what may have occurred or how many people were involved.

Medic said that no officers were injured.

WBTV could see a large police presence in the area. WBTV was working to learn what happened.
