Niagara Falls and the CN Tower will be illuminated in blue this weekend to celebrate the Toronto Blue Jays' appearance in the World Series. This marks the first time the Blue Jays have reached the Fall Classic in 32 years. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board announced that both the Horseshoe Falls and American Falls will be lit up in blue starting at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. This special illumination coincides with the first two games of the World Series, which will be held in Toronto against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The decision to light up the falls was made in collaboration with Niagara Falls Tourism and Niagara Parks. The illumination board, which has been operating since 1925, has a long history of lighting the falls for special occasions. The tradition began in 1860 to honor the visiting Prince of Wales. In January 2023, members of the Blue Jays, including players Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Chris Bassitt, visited Niagara Falls during a winter tour of Canadian cities. This visit also featured a special illumination of the falls in celebration of the team. In addition to Niagara Falls, the CN Tower will also be illuminated in blue for the Blue Jays' games. The tower will display the team's colors during the first home game of each playoff series and the final game. Fans can view the lighting online during game days. For those attending the World Series at Rogers Centre, a 15% discount on general admission tickets to the CN Tower will be available on game days. This weekend's blue lights will serve as a visual show of support for the Blue Jays as they compete for the championship title.
