A man accused of sucker punching a shopper outside an Aldi grocery store in Lauderdale Lakes has been arrested and charged with felony battery, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said 45-year-old Dandrea Johnson is accused of attacking a man who was leaving the store with his service dog on October 11.

Surveillance video captured the confrontation and the moment Johnson allegedly struck the customer, knocking him to the ground and causing severe injuries that have left the victim in a coma.

Arrest made after public tips

Johnson was taken into custody on Oct. 22, after tips from media coverage of the incident led detectives to identify and locate him.
