PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after holes were discovered Thursday in the windows of the Providence Public School District's administration building.
A district spokesperson said a "loud pop" was heard outside a first-floor window around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, but the damage wasn't noticed or reported until the next morning.
Police were called to the Westminster Street offices around 11 a.m. for reports of possible bullet holes. Officers said they found "four small defects" in the glass consistent with damage from a BB or pellet gun.
Investigators told the district the damage was not caused by bullets, noting that the impact from one would have shattered the glass. According to the spokesperson, police said it was potentially due to a "BB gun, sling shot or thrown
