NEW ORLEANS — From deep sinkholes to car-wrecking ditches, some Gentilly residents say their roads are in dangerous condition. They question why the city has not fixed them, even as roadwork goes ahead on neighboring blocks.
“Over time, with them fixing all the other streets in the neighborhood, the dump trucks came through, slamming into the ground, damaging the streets even more," said Jasmine Saul, who lives on Acacia Street.
She posted a TikTok video made from clips from her doorbell camera. It shows cars and trucks scraping their undercarriages as they run into road humps, day and night. It begins with the caption: “POV you live on the worst street in New Orleans.”
