DALLAS, Texas — A Dallas mother is calling for stronger school security after her 16-year-old son was stabbed during a bus ride to Lake Highlands High School, one of two separate weapons incidents at the campus on the same day.
Jaeshon Forte, a junior, said he stepped in to break up a fight when he realized something was wrong.
“I took my jacket off and my shirt, and it was just blood everywhere,” Forte said.
He didn’t realize at first that he’d been stabbed with a paring knife. He remembers asking for help.
“I asked the teacher, Can you get an officer? I need help,” he said.
His mother, Lonnieshi Dollarhide, says she’s still shaken by what could have happened.
“It could have immediately killed him. That's near major arteries,” she said.
