Alaska Airlines said it had grounded its flights at all airports on Thursday evening due to an unspecified technology outage affecting its operations.
The ground stop also applies to Alaska Airlines' subsidiaries Horizon Air and SkyWest Airlines, according to a Federal Aviation Administration advisory. The ground stop was expected to lift at 1:30 GMT, which is 6:30 p.m. Arizona time, according to the FAA. Departures from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport were exempt from the ground stop, the FAA said.
The airline also briefly grounded all of its flights in July for about three hours due to an IT outage.
"A temporary ground stop is in place," the company said in a brief statement to The Arizona Republic. "We apologize for the inconvenience."
