TEXARKANA, USA (KTAL/KMSS) — Darien Hatcher started Mariah House, named for his mother, because he felt a calling.
"I had a dream, a recurring dream to start helping people," says Hatcher.
He decided his way to help people would be to provide a desperately needed but often overlooked service. A shower.
"You do it every day and it's just like second nature, but someone that is sleeping in their car, or they lost their job and they have no way of paying their water bill, or they get put out from wherever they're at," says Hatcher.
He moves his shower on wheels around between the Salvation Army on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and the Texarkana Public Library on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
