BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Shell has given Southern University $5 million to help expand student success.

According to a press release, a portion of the investment will go toward improving the university's chemical engineering program to prepare students to become more competitive scientists, engineers, and innovators. The investment will also fund a Student Success Center, which is designed to give students academic support, career development tools, and supplemental instruction.
