Two farmworkers in Madera County are being celebrated for saving nearly 20 students from a burning school bus. Angel Zarco and Carlos were working in a nearby field when they saw flames coming from the back of the bus in September. The bus had stalled, trapping the children inside. Acting quickly, the men helped evacuate every student to safety before firefighters arrived. Cal Fire praised their courage, and the Madera County Board of Supervisors honored them with a proclamation recognizing their heroic actions.
