JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — The Jefferson Parish Water Department, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, has issued a boil water advisory for the Cheniere side of Grand Isle, from the bridge to the Jefferson–Lafourche Parish line.
Officials say the advisory was issued as a precaution after a malfunctioning storage tank valve.
Residents and businesses in the affected area are urged to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or preparing food until the advisory is lifted.
The advisory will remain in effect until tests confirm the water is safe to drink.
