On Friday, October 17, deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Ford pickup truck on Highway 59 South, traveling northbound toward Nacogdoches. The vehicle was stopped for speeding inside a construction zone.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was identified as John Darren Crawford, 50, from Nacogdoches . Upon contact with the driver, deputies became suspicious due to Crawford’s behavior.

Search Reveals Numerous Brands of Drugs

Consent to search the vehicle was granted by Crawford, who is the registered owner of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 2.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 123 grams of Alprazolam pills, and a small amount of marijuana. Alprazolam is a pres
