JO DAVIESS Co., Ill. (KWQC) - A 45-year-old man was sentenced to prison Thursday for a sexual assault and abuse in Galena, Illinois.

Francisco Guinea-Delgado of Mundelein, Illinois, was sentenced to 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to the Jo Daviess County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Guinea-Delgado pled guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony and criminal sexual abuse, a Class 4 felony.

Officials said the charges stem from an Aug. 17, 2024 incident.

After serving his sentence, officials said Guinea-Delgado will have three years of parole and will register as a sex offender.
