HANNIBAL (WGEM) - Faith-based Mission 180 purchased the Eugene Field Elementary School building.

After Eugene Field Elementary School closed last year, the building lay dormant until two weeks ago when Mission 180, a faith-based outreach group, purchased it.

The group’s goal is to turn the building into a resource center for aged out foster children.

“We wanted to work with some of the agencies and offer space to some of the agencies that work with foster families,” said Stephanie Morris, outreach coordinator.

Morris said the group is already in talks with charitable organizations to provide the children with the proper tools to find permanent living.
