Five months after the Malahat post office closed for renovations, it is set to reopen the week of Nov. 3, Canada Post says.

The gas station that houses the post office closed on June 2 for renovations, and at the time the closure was expected to last for eight weeks.

This closure meant people who pick up their mail from the Malahat gas station had to drive to the Shawnigan post office instead, which is 16 kilometres away.

In mid-September, Canada Post shared that the project was taking longer than expected, and the new reopening date was expected to be by the end of October.
