PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — Pennsylvania has a $7.1 billion poultry industry, and officials are urging farmers and businesses to be extra careful of biosecurity risks that can devastate their flocks.

On Thursday, Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding urged farms to tighten their biosecurity as there may be heightened seasonal risks of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPIA). He also worked to remind farmers and businesses that there are HPAI Recovery Grants available that can help them get back on their feet after losses from the disease.
