HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WTAJ) — Juniata College has defied the nationwide trend of declining college enrollments by reporting a 9% increase in total headcount since 2022, reaching 1,363 students for fall 2025.

This growth comes as many colleges face challenges from the 'demographic cliff,' a projected decline in the number of college-age students following the Great Recession. Juniata's success is attributed to strategic initiatives, including new academic programs, expanded athletic recruitment, and strengthened student success efforts.

"Our fall census on campus was extremely encouraging and shows that our recruitment and retention strategies are resonating with our students," Vice President of Enrollment at Juniata College Jason Moran said.
