KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Jackson County, Missouri Prosecutor announced charges against a man suspected of being responsible for the death of two people in 2023 on Friday, October 24.

Prosecutor Melesa Johnson says that Angel Esparza of Kansas City, Missouri is being charged with second-degree murder, first-degree involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance.

Court records show that the charges stem from an incident where two coworkers died from fentanyl overdoses in 2023. One victim was found dead in their Lee's Summit home, the other was found dead in their Belton home.
