KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Police Department's Traffic Unit kept busy Thursday, as officers handed out more than 200 traffic tickets.
Officers clocked drivers at speeds above 100 miles per hour on Thursday as part of traffic enforcement throughout the city.
According to a post on the KCPD Facebook page, some drivers were caught speeding in school zones and on the interstate.
Officers issued 230 tickets and warnings to drivers for speeding and other traffic violations.
The speeding tickets come just after Kansas City leaders announced a new traffic ordinance aimed at enhancing school zone safety, and nearly a week after KCPD issued more than 100 tickets for traffic violations on Southwest Trafficway.
