ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Public Library kicked off its annual used book sale Friday, offering a wide range of items to the community.
The sale includes books, movies, music, and games for people of all ages and continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organized by the Friends of the Altoona Public Library, all proceeds support the library's operations and programs.
"The friends donate about $40,000 to $50,000 a year to cover some operating expenses that we have, program expenses and help us purchase books for the library," Altoona Area Public Library Executive Director Jennifer Knisely said.
The sale does not have Sunday hours, but it will continue on Monday with a special $5 bag sale from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the ground floor.
