BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) -The No. 6 Brenham Cubs (8-0, 3-0) kept their District 10-5A DII title hopes alive following a 33-25 win over the Ellison Eagles Friday night at Cub Stadium.

Xyran Upshaw threw 4 touchdown passes. Two caught by Chris Chris Guidry who now holds the school record in career receptions, career touchdowns, and career receiving yards.

Cartelle Brown caught the other two touchdown passes as the Cubs built a 20-17 halftime lead over the upset minded Eagles (3-5, 1-2).

The Cub defense came up with 3 turnovers in the first 25 minutes of the game. There was a Ellison fumble on a kickoff return and interceptions by Quincy Adams and Kristian Prosper.

Tonight’s victory sets up a battle of district unbeatens next week when the Cubs travel to Waco to take on the University High T
